We provide financial support for a continuum of care needed after standard 30-day inpatient rehabilitation so individuals can increase their chance of successful, long-term recovery from addiction.
Learn about our scholarshipDecades of moralistic vilification of drug use have resulted in widespread stigma and shame stemming from addiction, impacting both the addict and their family. Stigma often leads to prolonged drug and alcohol abuse as the user is afraid to ask for assistance and becomes further isolated and hopeless. Families often feel shame, inhibiting them from obtaining necessary tools to face the situation clearly and offer constructive support to the addict. Recovering from addiction is hard enough without the additional burden of internalized shame and stigma. We reject the legitimacy of the social stigma surrounding substance use disorders for users and their families/friends. We believe that one of the best ways to end stigma and reduce shame is by telling our stories, starting with Ben.
