About Ben

Ben was outgoing, athletic, handsome and successful. He also struggled with addiction. He died of an accidental overdose due to fentanyl poisoning on October 20, 2018. Ben’s life was filled with family and friends, adventure, and passion. He loved nature, music concerts, sports, playing poker, and traveling. His generous spirit touched the hearts of so many and we all will continue to feel the ripples of his life. The Ben Meyer Recovery Foundation has been born out of our desire to keep Ben’s energy alive and present in our lives, and to continue the work that Ben cared so much about – helping others find freedom in sobriety.
